Esi Technology has launched its GS4200-USB pressure sensor designed to plug directly into a laptop, tablet or PC.
The GS4200-USB employs Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) technology and the sapphire substrate also allows the sensor to operate over a wide temperature range without loss of performance due to its insulation properties.
Additionally, the SOS sensor element is bonded to a titanium diaphragm instead of the more traditional use stainless steel.
As a result, high overpressures, very low hysteresis and robust corrosion resistance are produced - according to the company.
