Intertek expands food testing capability
7 May 2014
Intertek has opened three food testing laboratories this year, including a 24/7 facility in Derby.
Intertek senior vice president Chetan Parmar says the reason Intertek has opened three new food testing facilities in the UK, Germany and the Philippines respectively, is to service the company’s “growing global client network”.
The new UK laboratory in Derby, which Process Engineering reported on during March, will offer 24/7 testing and analysis and support to local, regional and global clients.
“We offer a broad spectrum of testing methods to our customers

It will focus on providing high quality results and quick turnaround times for all microbiological testing requirements.
Meanwhile, the facility in Bremen, Germany will feature advanced sensory testing equipment to ensure the product feels, tastes and looks right according to the clients’ requirements.
“By increasing our Food Services operations globally, we can provide additional support to our clients within the food industry. We offer a broad spectrum of testing methods to our customers, helping Intertek to become the food safety partner of choice for local, regional and global companies,” Parmar said.
“The expansion of our portfolio in testing and analysis - in conjunction with our auditing and certification services - strengthens our approach, allowing us to offer consistent services from producer to consumer.”
Intertek has also expanded its food testing facility in Makati in the Philippines.
