The 2900 series analyser from YSI is ideal for the sugar content analysis of food products.
Manufacturers of low-sugar content or “sugar free” food products face stringent requirements and need to be able to clearly demonstrate compliance with defined sugar levels.
According to life sciences firm YSI, many instruments designed for measuring sugar are unable to do so accurately at such a low sugar level, typically 0.5g/L or less.
However YSI’s sensor technology allows for accurate measurement down to 0.05g/L for Glucose and 0.1g/L for Sucrose, the company claims.
Furthermore, the YSI 2900 analyser is designed to give rapid results in one minute or less.
Since its introduction, 2900 has brought several features to the YSI immobilised enzyme technology, such as increased flexibility in sampling, including 96 well plate, and versatile data connectivity functions, with OPC, Ethernet, USB or RS232 connection to other computers or instruments.
Moreover, the modular approach of the 2900 allows for up to six compatible chemistries to be measured simultaneously and, for total process optimisation, the 2900M is capable of offering automatic online sampling, monitoring and control, YSI says.
