Life Technologies has published an application note detailing the use of its EVOS FL Auto Cell Imaging System to help quantitate proliferating cell types.
The EVOS FL Auto Cell Imaging System is a fully-automated, digital, inverted, multichannel fluorescence and transmitted-light imaging system with advanced workflow efficiency.
Its software features include automatic cell counting with a captured or live image, and its watershed algorithm has been designed to enhance the precision of counting cells stained with ReadyProbes NucBlue Live or Fixed Cell Stain.
In this application note, the number of replicating cells was identified as a percentage of the total population of cells.
The percentage of proliferating cells was determined by labelling cells with EdU-Alexa Fluor 594 to identify proliferating cells and NucBlue Fixed Cell Stain to identify total cells.
