Carbolite, a designer and manufacturer of high temperature laboratory furnaces and ovens has produced a range of different sized ashing furnaces.
Ash residue analysis is one of the most common applications for laboratory furnaces.
The AAF range of ashing furnaces from Carbolite is designed specifically to provide optimum ashing conditions for complete combustion of your sample.
It is therefore ideal for many applications including:
- foodstuffs
- plastics
- coal
- other hydrocarbons
The Carbolite Ashing Furnace range consists of the AAF 11/3, the AAF 11/7, the AAF 11/18 and the AAF/12/18.
Your choice of model will depend on your specific requirements, as the different models all fulfil slightly different needs.
If you want to carry out other heating work at higher temperatures, for example, the AAF/12/18 has a maximum operating temperature of 1200°C as opposed to the 1000°C of the other models.
The AAF/12/18 and the AAF 11/18 both offer protection of the elements from a corrosive atmosphere or carbon build-up by the use of silicon carbide tiles. The AAF/12/18 and AAF 11/18 also both feature a two-tier rack that doubles sample capacity.
The AAF 11/3 and the AAF 11/7 models both have their wire elements protected from mechanical and chemical damage by a tough alumina-based liner.
They also have tall chimneys and air inlets that can provide airflow of four to five changes per minute.
The low chamber height in these models means that the airflow achieves optimum combustion by being held close to the sample.
Air is preheated before it enters the chamber to give greater uniformity and the powerful elements, with graded winding, compensates for heat loss caused by the high airflow. They both come complete with sample tray and a loading handle.
The large floor area on all models allows for a large number of samples and there is optional over-temperature protection for valuable contents. And a range of smart digital controllers, multi-segment programmers and data loggers is available.
Whatever model you chose, be assured that the AAF ashing furnaces are designed by Carbolite to provide optimum ashing conditions and complete sample combustion.
