Supplier of one quarter of the world's haematology analysers celebrates its twentieth birthday, while its parent company celebrates its fiftieth
This year ABX Diagnostics is celebrating 20 years of innovation and service to medical laboratories worldwide a landmark that also coincides with the 50th anniversary of ABX's parent company, Horiba.
To mark these significant milestones, ABX has styled 2003 as its '20/50 festival year' with a number of events and product developments throughout the year, starting with Focus2003 in Manchester, where it will be at suite B1.
Over the last 20 years ABX has grown to such an extent that it now supplies one quarter of the world's haematology analysers. This organic growth, together with the backing of the Horiba corporation - one of the world's main manufacturers of analytical and measuring instruments - has meant increased resources for product research and development.
At the same time ABX has successfully retained a particular closeness to its customers, something that Cleve Wright, UK manager, sees as central to success.
"ABX has always taken pride in providing customers with superb instrumentation and reagents and also an unparalleled level of service and support, which is why we have been so successful in our tender bids.
With the combination of this customer-centred approach, our strength in haematology and an increasing presence in clinical chemistry and point-of-care, means that ABX is able to offer a vision of true integrated diagnostics solutions".
Cleve is also enthusiastic about Focus2003.
"We wanted to celebrate our double anniversary this year with our customers - hence the 20/50 Festival celebrations.
The new business suite format at Focus means that attendees will be able to meet with ABX staff for an update on all of our products and services, in an informal and stimulating setting".
In recognition of the importance of the Focus2003 - and the effort that the ACB is putting in to promote clinical biochemistry to a wider audience through the national media - ABX also announces its sponsorship of the press room.
