ABX says it is enabling pathology laboratory managers to run their labs more efficiently, with the introduction of its new HemaLink multi-analyser data management software.

The HemaLink workstation links ABX analysers from various locations in the lab or even in point of care locations around the hospital or trust.
The operator can then access and control data from all linked analysers, from customised alerts, auto validation and panel configurations to user-defined reagent inventory and QC tracking.
The software also allows operators to message each other within the network of linked analysers.
Comprising a keyboard and flat screen, the HemaLink workstation takes up a minimum amount of space and so can be located in any convenient place.
"Perhaps the single most important factor in lab efficiency is the management of data" explained Cleve Wright, UK manager, ABX Diagnostics. "By linking all reporting from a number of ABX analysers to one central workstation, HemaLink not only makes the management of multiple analysers much easier, but with only one interface to the laboratory information management system (Lims), the IT requirements are much less complicated".
With HemaLink, operators can order tests, look up and consolidate results and QC data from all linked analysers, getting a complete history of all lab test data.
Using Windows 2000, the easy to use and intuitive display offers colour coding, for at-a-glance status indication, and clear flagging with ranges displayed.
Patient results can be displayed or printed on a single or cumulative basis, either as tabular or graph reports.
