"With a combined instrumentation and biochemistry team we can respond faster and more flexibly to the assaying demands of current and future customers"
TTP Group has recently merged the screening interests of two of its operating companies - Acumen Biosciences and TTP LabTech.
TTP LabTech is the developer of the Explorer range of assay instruments, while Acumen Biosciences was formerly responsible for the marketing and sales worldwide.
Both commercial and technical functions will now be the responsibility of TTP LabTech, which continues to manufacture the compound storage system, Compound, and the Mosquito nanolitre pipetting station. Gerald Avison, chief executive of TTP, explained the decision: "By integrating the developer of the Explorer instrumentation with the applications specialists who are closest to end-user needs, we believe we can better serve the needs of the industry.
"With a combined instrumentation and biochemistry team we can respond faster and more flexibly to the assaying demands of current and future customers".
Philip Blenkinsop, TTP LabTech's managing director, said: "A strong market presence has been developed around Acumen and we acknowledge the excellent work undertaken by Richard Philpott and his team in this respect.
"TTP LabTech will continue to market the Explorer range of products under the Acumen brand name.
"The service and support team for Acumen will be expanded and improved by this change and we believe customers will be impressed by the new level of service".
The change enables TTP LabTech to provide a consistent and comprehensive product portfolio covering screening, liquid handling, and compound storage.
