Axum 6 offers engineers, scientists, analysts and researchers the advanced graphing tools they need to share data visually in publication-quality plots.
New Release of Axum Offers Adept Scientific announces a major new release of Axum, the leading PC graphing and data analysis software for all technical users from MathSoft International.
New Axum 6 offers engineers, scientists, analysts and researchers the advanced graphing tools they need to share data visually in publication-quality plots.
Scientists, engineers and other technical people need wider graphing capabilities and more control over the format and appearance of their charts than spreadsheets and business graphics programs can provide.
Axum has successfully met the needs of such users, and now the newly-released Axum 6 allows an even greater level of support for exploring and presenting their data.
Axum 6 offers more than 90 ways to graph data in two and three dimensions, providing users with many more options for analysing, communicating and presenting results.
Axum 6 lets users select the presentation that will best illustrate the relationships in their data.
Axum 6 can import and export data from many sources, includes extensive formatting features and provides advanced data analysis tools. New interoperability improvements, including a built-in link to Mathcad, make Axum 6 work seamlessly with other applications, such as Microsoft Office, Matlab, S-PLUS, SAS and SPSS.
Together, the new capabilities make Axum 6 the most complete, full-featured application available for producing technical graphs.
"Axum 6 gives technical users an unprecedented degree of control over their graphs," says Paul Bragg, Adept Scientific's managing director.
"By enabling them to explore their data through a range of views, Axum helps users identify trends they might otherwise have missed.
The wide selection of display options for creating 2D and 3D plots enables them to present their data in the way that clearly communicates the results of their work." Formatting options are extensive: Axum 6 lets users select style settings and colour scale legends, interactively rescale 2D axes, dynamically select data points, and control labelling for scatter plots.
Graph properties such as line weight, font, colour, axes and symbol types are easily specified.
Axum 6 provides a variety of data analysis capabilities to help users identify trends or anomalies in their data.
As well as basic and advanced statistics and a variety of regressions and calculations, it offers many data-smoothing options, including loess regressing technique, and allows users to analyse models and perform diagnostics using a sub-set of the S-PLUS programming language.
Other new features of Axum 6 include support for integer, complex, logical, date and factor data, enabling it to support a broader array of scientific, statistical, engineering and medical projects.
Axum 6 also provides a highly effective user interface for working with multi-panel graphs, which can be output onto multiple pages.
