Site-wide licences offered to higher education sites, further education sites, research councils and selected associated sites in the United Kingdom
ResearchSoft has announced an agreement to offer site-wide licences to higher education sites, further education sites, research councils and selected associated sites in the United Kingdom for WriteNote - a unique educational software tool aimed at the student audience in universities and colleges.
Sold as an annual, site-wide subscription to the organisation, WriteNote is designed to help students conduct their research and write papers.
"In response to requests from our customers who wanted a bibliographic software program that could be provided to students on an affordable basis, EduServ has negotiated an agreement which is available to all Chest institutions," said Nikki Green, manager, Chest.
"The agreement is structured to accommodate the requirements of institutions within the Chest community and provides a licensing model that allows WriteNote to be accessible by all." Under the agreement, Chest institutions can subscribe to site-wide licenses for their organisation for a minimum one-year term, or add WriteNote to their existing licenses for EndNote, Reference Manager or ProCite.
Access to WriteNote will be via a combination of IP authentication and e-mail address plus password.
Access via Athens is currently in development and will be available in the next few months.
As an ISI ResearchSoft authorised distributor in the UK, Adept Scientific provides customer service and technical support related to these Chest negotiated licenses.
"Our agreement with Chest confirms the growing interest we are seeing from institutions to enhance their support of teaching students research and writing skills," said David Kochalko, president of ISI ResearchSoft.
"We are excited to deliver the first web-based bibliographic solution designed especially for students.
"WriteNote brings the essence of EndNote to the campus for the benefit of all students, and provides an easy way for students to move to EndNote when their requirements advance." The above package is supplied and supported in the UK and Ireland by Adept Scientific.
