Web-based research and writing tool 6 for Windows, Macintosh and Linux offers a pure browser option, unicode support, and more
Adept Scientific announces a major upgrade to WriteNote, a web-based research and writing tool.
WriteNote 1.6, developed by Thomson ISI ResearchSoft, supports all popular web browsers and word processors on Windows, Macintosh and Linux.
It provides full Unicode support as well as hundreds of import filters for popular bibliographic databases and publishing styles for major journals. "WriteNote 1.6 represents a major evolution of our Web-based solution," said David Kochalko, president, Thomson ISI ResearchSoft.
"Our users have guided us in creating a product that can be run entirely from the browser and helps them collect references and write papers in any language.
"The result is an innovative and full-featured product for a worldwide audience".
WriteNote is a complementary program to EndNote, ProCite, and Reference Manager - ISI ResearchSoft's industry standard bibliographic desktop software solutions - and continues the company's commitment to delivering productivity tools to the entire spectrum of researchers, from students to professionals.
With WriteNote 1.6 users can conduct research, build reference libraries, and format bibliographies using virtually any web browser on Windows, Macintosh and Linux.
Users can capture and organise references in a personal library, with unlimited library size; import references using filters for over 250 popular online content providers; create bibliographies complete with in-text citations using any word processor; and format bibliographies using over 700 publishing styles.
A subscription to WriteNote provides access for users anytime, anywhere and includes upgrades for easy maintenance.
WriteNote is a cost-effective solution that maximises the value of online subscription resources.
Unicode Support WriteNote 1.6 implements Unicode support to provide researchers with a standardised means of interchanging, processing, and displaying the written text of virtually every language.
The Unicode Standard has been adopted by industry leaders including Apple, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Sun, Sybase, and Unisys, and is supported by all modern browsers.
Now students and researchers can cite references and create bibliographies for their papers using any language. WriteNote is sold as an annual, unlimited site-wide Chest subscription to academic institutions in the UK by Adept Scientific.
