Agilent puts a series of videos online to help users make the most of their chromatography systems
Agilent Technologies Europe has announced a new online resource that helps users of its chromatography instruments maintain their systems correctly and efficiently.
The online videos, which last from only a few seconds to just over three minutes, can reduce training time significantly and minimise instrument downtime. Currently, 19 How-to videos are available free of charge for viewing by registered users.
These videos cover various installation and maintenance topics for Agilent 6890 and 6850 gas chromatography (GC) systems.
Subjects include: 6890 inlet maintenance (specifically split/splitless liner replacement, column installation, seal replacement, and syringe installation); programmable temperature vaporisation (PTV) inlet maintenance addressing column and liner installation as well as seal replacement; programmable cool on-column injection (PCOC), including column installation and septum replacement; and 6850 GC system capillary inlet leak test, capillary inlet maintenance, capillary inlet vent test, syringe installation, flame ionisation detector (FID) maintenance, and split vent trap replacement. These videos address the most frequently asked questions called into Agilent's customer contact centre.
New videos highlighting other analytical techniques and subjects will be posted as they become available.
Instrument operators can watch these videos online or can download the file to view at their convenience.
Agilent says these videos are part of its commitment to provide customers with tools that can save them time, reduce expenses, and improve analytical results.
The videos are particularly useful for beginning operators, but can be helpful to chromatographers of any level.
