Agilent Technologies and Scientific Software are to develop and market the integration of the CyberLAB Knowledge Engineering System and Agilent's networked data systems
Agilent Technologies and Scientific Software have announced that they will develop and market the integration of Scientific Software's CyberLAB Knowledge Engineering System and Agilent's networked data systems (NDS), including Agilent ChemStation Plus and Agilent Cerity NDS for Pharmaceutical quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).
The alliance will benefit analytical laboratories in the life sciences field by providing fully compliant solutions for acquisition, management and long-term storage of raw and meta-data to ensure regulatory compliance and improve productivity in the drug discovery, development and manufacturing process.
Scientific Software is the developer of CyberLAB -- a Web-based knowledge engineering system designed to manage all types of information across an enterprise, building an entire electronic library for informed decision making and enabling regulatory compliance with the US Food and Drug Administration's ruling on electronic records and signatures (21 CFR Part 11).
The Agilent ChemStation Plus NDS family provides modular software components for instrument control, data acquisition and data management, giving the flexibility to choose a system that meets both the lab's present and future requirements.
The ChemStation base software handles all applications including LC, LC/MS, GC, CE and CE/MS, and can be extended with add-on software modules for data organization and storage, remote control and monitoring, compliance with regulatory guidelines (21 CFR Part 11), and validation of analytical methods.
Agilent Cerity NDS for Pharmaceutical QA/QC is designed specifically to meet the diverse and wide-ranging requirements of QA/QC labs in the pharmaceutical industry.
It provides centralized management of chromatography data for labs with several hundred instruments and up to 50 concurrent users.
It also helps labs reduce operating and validation costs by adapting to the lab's workflow and by assuring compliance to FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 11) and quality standards.
"We believe the combined products will be a more powerful solution for our common pharmaceutical customers," said Soheil Saadat, president and CEO of Scientific Software.
"Scientific Software is a recognized leader in knowledge engineering systems," said Chris van Ingen, senior vice president and general manager of Agilent's Life Sciences and Chemical Analysis business. "This agreement builds upon the unique strengths of both companies to deliver a complete solution to ensure regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical industry, and is an example of our continued commitment to developing our life sciences business."
