Agilent Technologies has announced the appointment of John Eaton as vice president of finance and corporate development, effective immediately.
In this role, Eaton will have responsibility for Agilent's treasury and corporate development functions, and will serve as corporate treasurer.
Eaton, 61, has held the position of vice president, corporate development, since Agilent was founded in 1999.
Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Hewlett-Packard in a range of marketing and business development assignments in the United Kingdom and United States.
Eaton, a native of Chester, England, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and statistics from Manchester University in England. Agilent's previous treasurer, Didier Hirsch, was named corporate controller in April 2003.
Hirsch has continued to serve as treasurer until the appointment of Eaton.
