Guildford-based company ReNeuron Limited relies on the quality and reproducibility of BD Biosciences' Biocoat Laminin cellware for growing its cell culture systems.
Dr John Sinden, Chief Scientific Officer at ReNeuron, explained: "ReNeuron is conducting groundbreaking research into the development of stem-cell based therapeutic products to combat various neurological conditions, including strokes, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
"Strict quality control is very important at every level and that is why we use the BD Biocoat Laminin cellware product. "The basis of our work is cell regeneration, using cell lines derived from brain stem cells and it is essential that these cell lines are grown in the right environment.
"Convenience is another important factor, as coating plasticware ourselves would be highly labour-intensive as well as relatively unreliable.
"We have been very impressed with the way BD Biosciences has kept up with our high demand for this product which, because of its biological element, has a relatively short shelf-life.
BD Biocoat meets our needs and we trust the product."
