Carl Zeiss says it has sets new standards in microscopy and digital imaging with the introduction of its Axiovert 200 inverted microscope
Live Cell imaging has markedly increased the demands of microscopy workstations.
This applies not only to optical performance and functionality, but also to stability, flexibility and ease of operation.
With the introduction of the Axiovert 200, Carl Zeiss has raised the standard of performance of inverted microscope systems.
"The Axiovert 200 microscope is one step ahead of its predecessors in every decisive detail", said Alexander Soell, product manager in the Light Microscopy division of Carl Zeiss.
"This applies to the excellent optics with a wide spectrum of ICS objectives, innovative condensers and optimised fluorescence, as well as to the exceptional diversity of documentation and attachment possibilities, stability and a unique ergonomic design.
The new LD condensers for DIC, Phase and Zeiss's unique Varel contrast can be used in every application.
The stand readily adapts to a vast range of applications using its unequalled variety of optical, mechanical and electronic interfaces.
For fluorescence applications the Axiovert 200 offers the brightest images with the best signal-to-noise ratio, thanks to the patented Light Trap, which diverts stray light away from the optical path.
The Aqua Stop feature, also a new development, uses silicon rings to protect the objectives nosepiece and fluorescence filters from contact with liquids.
Working with the Axiovert 200 is exceptionally comfortable with the arrangement of the controls directly around the focusing drive, the ergotube, which can be adapted to any body height, and automatic light intensity adjustment depending upon the magnification.
For the observation, micromanipulation and simultaneous documentation of processes in living specimens, the Axiovert 200 provides an integrated solution ideally designed for optimum performance in live cell imaging.
The 'Cell Observer' is a complete system ideal for live cell imaging, which integrates the Axiovert 200, environmental control, the AxioCam digital camera and AxioVision software.
The Cell Observer permits all the imaging functions needed today; time-lapse, multichannel, Z-stack, and mark and find, as well as distance measurements, angle calculations, statistics and many more.
