R C Treatt, a supplier of flavour and fragrance ingredients, has achieved dramatically improved monitoring of its essential oils distillation processes using the EZ-Flash chromatography accessory from CSI.
Added to a conventional capillary gas chromatograph, the accessory reduces the cycle time per analysis from 55 minutes to approximately seven minutes without loss of analytical information.
It is therefore possible to track and control the distillation of essential oil fractions much more accurately.
For any capillary GC application where faster results - or just more results - are needed, EZ-Flash provides a cost-effective solution to the problem, and in some cases can achieve productivity improvements of up to a factor of ten. Analytical precision can also be improved, as duplicate or triplicate results can be produced in considerably less time than it takes to perform a single analysis with a conventional instrument.
