Clinical research organisation has enjoyed a successful year and has secured a number of large contracts from leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies
Clinical research organisation Chiltern International has added to its project management team with the appointment of Susan Gales as global project manager.
The Slough-based research organisation, which also has offices in central and mainland Europe, and the United States, has enjoyed a tremendously successful year and has secured a number of large scale contracts from some of the world's leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Gales will be responsible for planning, developing and executing these larger scale, more complex trials. After graduating in biological sciences, Gales worked for a year as a research officer at Essex University before moving into clinical data management at Wyeth.
During 14 years with the company, she worked with teams responsible for global clinical data management.
More recently, she worked as the associate director for clinical data management at Wyeth, where she managed a team of 30, liasing with global clinical teams for studies in a variety of therapeutic areas.
Commenting on her appointment, Gales explained; "Clients push for shorter and shorter drug development timelines to maximise the time a drug is on the market.
"At the same time, drug development is coming under increasing scrutiny from regulatory bodies.
"Chiltern's challenge will be to maintain its impressive growth internationally with these challenges as the background."
