Torrey Pines Scientific introduces a programmable stirring hot plate engineered to resist corrosive environments while delivering precise, repeatable heating and stirring for demanding laboratory workflows.
Torrey Pines Scientific, Inc., based in Carlsbad, California, has launched the EchoTherm™ Model HS70, a fully programmable digital stirring hot plate designed to withstand corrosive laboratory conditions while enhancing automation and reliability. Built with an integrated purge port, the HS70 allows inert gas to flow through the chassis, creating positive pressure that prevents corrosive vapours from entering sensitive internal components—extending instrument lifespan and maintaining consistent performance.
The HS70 offers both intuitive manual control and advanced programmable operation. Users can easily define temperature, stirring speed, ramp rates, and timed steps, or store multi-step routines for repeatable, unattended operation. With memory for up to 10 programs—each containing up to 10 configurable steps—the unit ensures reproducible results without constant supervision.
A durable ceramic heating surface provides rapid, uniform heating up to 450 °C, while platinum RTD sensing and PID control maintain precise, stable temperatures. Stirring capabilities range from 100 to 1500 rpm, supporting up to 2 litres of aqueous solutions. Additional features include digital timing, RS232 connectivity for data integration, and compliance with ETL, CSA, and CE standards.
The EchoTherm HS70 delivers dependable performance and automation for laboratories working in challenging chemical environments.
