Independent clinical research organisation Chiltern International has announced the promotion of Philippe Vidal to general manager of Chiltern France
Chiltern says it is enjoying impressive growth in France and has even been consulted by a delegation from the French Economic Ministry as the French government tries to boost France's standing in the international healthcare sector.
Vidal was previously senior clinical development manager with the company, a role involving the management of the clinical development team as well as overseeing home-based CRAs.
He brings extensive experience to his new role, having been involved in a range of clinical projects at Chiltern since joining in 1997.
Much of this focus was on the monitoring of Phase II to IV national and international clinical studies in both GP and hospital settings. Prior to joining Chiltern he held positions with quality assurance and pharmaco-economic research at Quintiles.
He has also worked in the marketing and communication field for consultancies developing in-house training programmes and preparing reports for the media.
"My new position as French office general manager is a fantastic challenge as well as a real opportunity to be part of Chiltern's global development," commented Vidal.
"Since 1997, it has been a great pleasure to work with very talented people who always do their very best to satisfy our clients' expectations. "My role will be to maintain this tremendous commitment to lead Chiltern to a top position internationally.
"I know that I can count on everyone's help within the company to reach this point.
"The way to success will be difficult, but that is what makes this challenge so exciting".
