ClinPhone secures worldwide exclusivity for Healthcare Technology Systems's computer-administered rating scales
ClinPhone and Healthcare Technology Systems (HTS) have announced a major new partnership agreement.
ClinPhone - an operator of telephone and internet-based electronic trial management solutions - has secured an exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license for the use of HTS's assessments on any device or medium used in Phase I-IV clinical trials funded by pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device companies.
The new agreement is a significant expansion of a previous agreement in which ClinPhone held rights for a number of HTS computer-administered rating scales in Europe.
Through this agreement, ClinPhone successfully delivered a number of depression rating instruments in trials using interactive voice response technology to pharmaceutical clients.
This extension to the earlier agreement will allow ClinPhone to offer a much broader range of patient scales for diagnosis and severity assessment seamlessly integrated with ClinPhone's existing electronic trial management solutions.
HTS provides over 40 validated instruments, ranging from the computerised interview versions of the Hamilton depression and anxiety rating scales (HamD and Hama), to the quality-of-life-enjoyment-and-satisfaction questionnaire (Q-Les-Q).
Until now, HTS has offered these scales to clients through its own IVR systems.
With the new arrangement, all new work will transfer to ClinPhone's platform.
HTS will now focus on research and development activities including new scale development in central nervous systems and other therapeutic areas.
HTS will develop new products for ClinPhone's use in Phase I-IV clinical trials.
