CSP, specialist supplier to the chemical, food, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries, is launching a versatile automatic refractometer with what it says is the widest working temperature range in its class.
The Schmidt + Haensch ATR-W2 will measure the refractive index of liquids over a 60C range between +10C and +70C for unsurpassed flexibility and performance.
The microprocessor-controlled unit has a wide measurement range of 1.33 to 1.70 with a resolution of 0.00002.
Measurement is also independent of opacity, viscosity and colour.
The ATR-W2 has separate electronic and measurement modules to reduce the possibility of damage to the sensitive electronics due to liquid spillage.
The waterproof measurement head is made of stainless steel and incorporates the peltier thermostable sapphire prism, capable of accurately measuring as little as 0.3ml of sample.
A long-life yellow LED is used to illuminate the prism and a diode array detects the angle of total reflection, guaranteeing high resolution and stability.
Control is through a simple, splashproof touchpanel, with four definable keys and a large, two-line, 20-character illuminated LCD display.
Temperature, refractive index and % Brix are displayed, with capacity to programme in two other scales.
The % Brix is temperature corrected within +15 to +40C.
