Esco Micro has been awarded the ISO 14001 certification, the internationally recognised environmental management system standard
The ISO 14001 designation is awarded to organisations that establish a comprehensive environmental management program.
As a manufacturer with over 25 years of experience in the cleanroom industry, the company feels it its responsibility to implement an effective environmental management system (EMS) incorporating environmentally friendly policy measures into its day-to-day operations.
Packaging materials, such as wood crates and corrugated carton packaging, are easily recycled and the company also recycles packaging materials from suppliers to package its products when possible.
Esco currently uses steel that is highly recyclable in the construction of its products, while the external rotor motors used in all Esco laminar flow and biosafety cabinets, consume less energy than other manufacturers in the industry.
The certificate was presented to Esco Micro on 24 November 2003.
Esco Micro has been working towards the ISO 14001 certification since being awarded the ISO 9001 certification in May 2002.
