In a new development Genevac has radically enhanced obtainable sample drying performance from round bottom flasks and large tubes in the company's centrifugal evaporators through the use of novel Thermal Cushion technology.
To use, the patented Thermal Cushion is positioned into the bottom of the solid aluminium flask holder and the flask then loaded in on top of it. The proprietary design and formulation of the Thermal Cushion helps to absorb the high g-load associated with large samples in flasks up to 500ml capacity.
More importantly, however, when the high-g force Genevac rotor spins up, the Thermal Cushion compresses snugly against both the flask and holder walls.
The special formulation used in Thermal Cushions provides an excellent heat transfer path between the flask and the holder dramatically cutting drying times and prolonging glassware lifetimes.
Thermal Cushions are recommended for use with all sizes of round bottom flasks and with 40mm diameter tubes when these are used in Genevac solvent evaporators.
The Thermal Cushions are available in handy packs, which include roughly a month's supply of cushions together with insertion and removal tools.
