Systems provide ultra high throughput solvent evaporation accommodating samples in an extensive variety of formats
Genevac has announced the introduction of a new and improved version of its successful Mega 980 ultra high throughput evaporator for drug discovery applications.
The new series II Mega systems provide ultra high throughput solvent evaporation accommodating samples in an extensive variety of formats.
In addition to providing ultra-high throughput of smaller formats such as microtitre plates, Mega systems have been designed to handle larger sample holders including fraction collector racks from LC/MS systems, larger reaction blocks and proprietary sample formats.
Taking advantage of technological advances Genevac has been able to significantly improve evaporation performance in the series II Mega systems through the use of higher-powered lamps, more sophisticated control software and increased condensing power.
The new machine is said to be 40% faster with like-for-like loads than the older model, making the improved Mega 980 twice as fast as any comparable machine on the market. Four complete fraction collector racks from either Gilson or Waters HPLC systems can be dried down simultaneously, giving huge increases in productivity for the busy compound synthesis or purification lab.
Options include Dri-Pure anti-bumping system, continuous running condensers, solvent waste pumps, fumehood enclosure and condenser flushing system.
The Mega series was introduced five years ago to meet the requirement of large scale drying from fraction collector racks and larger numbers of microtitre plates in the drug discovery process.
The Mega series I has established itself as the evaporator of choice for high-throughput chemistry in major pharmaceutical R and D labs worldwide.
