The company was acquired as part of the merger between Apogent Technologies and Fisher Scientific International
Genevac became a part of the Fisher Scientific group in August 2004.
Leveraging this new relationship, Fisher Scientific UK will from the beginning of 2005 co-market the Genevac EZ-2 personal solvent evaporator through its comprehensive UK sales network. Genevac marketing manager Steve Knight commented: "This arrangement makes strong business sense for both parties. "Fisher already has significant other business in evaporation science and in parallel chemical synthesis, both of which are complementary to Genevac products.
"For our part, we get increased coverage in the UK enabling our own staff to provide better service to Genevac customers".
Fisher staff have been fully trained on the EZ-2 product line, which includes the base model suitable for removal of lower boiling point solvents and the EZ-2 Plus which can cope with solvents boiling at up to 160C in microplates, tubes, vials and flasks.
Fisher Scientific UK will sell both models in the series.
