System has the capacity to spot onto 450 standard glass microscope slides or into 80 microplates using a patented 48 pin high-precision low-friction head
Specifically developed to meet the ultra high throughput needs of production scale array manufacture and core microarray facilities, the QArraymax is the latest addition to the Genetix microarrayer product range.
Operating in a completely enclosed, humidity controlled environment the QArraymax system has the capacity to spot onto 450 standard glass microscope slides or into 80 microplates using a patented 48 pin high-precision low-friction (HPLF) head.
This capacity allows large batches of slides and plates to be processed in a single run, eliminating the batch-to-batch variation that can be an issue on smaller capacity systems.
Sample plates are stored in four integrated, humidity controlled plate stackers that hold 70 plates each, giving a total capacity of 280 plates or over 100,000 samples.
A low maintenance triple-axis servo motion control system provides fast array runs with unmatched accuracy and repeatability.
To ensure best results the new system employs the leading edge in environment control.
The robot bed area is fully humidity controlled and includes Hepa air filtration to limit air borne particulate contamination.
The humidity control for the microplate stackers and bed area is controlled independently allowing for optimal conditions in both areas.
The unique Genetix high-pressure pin wash station ensures that sample carryover is not an issue.
Complete sample traceability is ensured by the built-in barcode reader and QSoft Data Tracking software that track then record each sample's source and destination position.
This data can then be exported into a microarray scanner such as the Genetix aQuire or other leading scanners, to speed up spot finding and analysis.
The flexible, yet intuitive Genetix microarray software provides ease-of-use coupled with the option of extensive custom control over array design, spot density, number and type of spotting pins, slides, source plates and pin wash routines.
Adopting a modular design the QArraymax can also be adapted to suit the specialised requirements that may be needed in high-throughput microarraying projects.
