The HI 1100 replaces the towers, tray, and controllers and is completely compatible withe the HP 5890 series GCs.
The kit includes the Diplomat which translates all instrument control codes allowing the HI 1100 to appear as the 7673 to all chromatography programs (and stand-alone) including Agilent's ChemStation.
