One of the first companies in the UK to achieve ISO 17025 accreditation for the operating procedures of its testing and calibration services
Hounsfield Test Equipment has gained official recognition for the quality of its work.
It has become one of the first companies in the UK to achieve ISO 17025 accreditation for the operating procedures of its testing and calibration services.
All companies offering calibration services will have to comply with the new standard by July of this year, but achieving accreditation was relatively easy for Hounsfield as, according to the company, it already met or exceeded all the necessary criteria.
The reason for this is that the company is one of the few that has both a manufacturing and servicing capability, says sales and marketing director Martin Wheeler.
"Customers appreciate the fact that if our engineers find a fault during calibration checks, they have the training and experience to make the necessary repairs there and then," comments Mr Wheeler.
"This has obvious advantages over taking the equipment out of work until a service engineer can be called in for repairs." Providing such high quality services in the UK and Ireland is the job of services manager and head of UKAS calibration laboratory, Terry Adams, supported by five UKAS-accredited engineers.
Overseas customers are served by 60 exclusive Hounsfield distributors - each of which is required by Hounsfield to be able to provide service and calibration facilities.
