Broker announces increase in cover to £5 million for scheme specifically tailored to the needs of Ukas accredited testing laboratories
Howden UK, the independent Lloyd's broker specialising in professional indemnity insurance, has announced the increase in cover of the Ukas professional indemnity (PI) scheme to £5 million - allowing the broker to speed up the process of securing appropriate limits of cover for each individual Ukas accredited testing laboratory.
Howden UK launched its PI solution for Ukas accredited laboratories exactly one year ago.
12 months on, it says this remains the only scheme of its type in the UK, backed by insurers experienced in writing cover for testing laboratories - meaning that scheme members have access to the best cover available in the market.
Membership has grown dramatically over the past year and includes a wide range of companies - from those with a turnover of £50,000 to those with revenues of over £18 million - with a wide range of core competencies from asbestos to toxicology.
The scheme is specifically tailored to the needs of Ukas accredited testing laboratories, enabling Howden to present a complete picture to its exclusive markets and resulting in comprehensive cover at an affordable price for each individual member.
Equally important, scheme members have access to Howden's risk management and claims services allowing them to better structure their businesses in terms of risk exposure - but also giving them a professional shoulder to lean on for advice and guidance should a claim arise.
