Software combines deep scalable analytical algorithms with a powerful visualisation engine and the ability to access data and annotations from several local and remote sources
Strand Genomics, a life sciences informatics company, has entered into a distribution agreement with Interfocus to sell Avadis, Strand's flagship product for data analysis and visualisation.
Interfocus will represent Avadis in United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Avadis is a data analysis and visualisation tool.
Avadis Microarray is a functional extension to the product for conducting microarray gene expression analysis.
Avadis combines deep scalable analytical algorithms with a powerful visualisation engine and the ability to access data and annotations from several local and remote sources.
The uniqueness of Avadis stems from its depth in all three dimensions that facilitate discovery - access, visualisation and analysis.
Avadis provides a wide range of clustering techniques, statistical tests, and machine-learning based predictive modeling tools that make up the complete analysis toolset.
Avadis Microarray is a comprehensive microarray analysis solution that meets all the needs of gene expression researchers with a superior performance-to-price feature. "Avadis uniquely combines powerful analysis techniques with superior visualization allowing researchers to dig deeper and extract valuable information from their data" said Vijaya Chandru, chief executive officer, Strand Genomics. "InterFocus is well established and has a wide reach that will help Avadis penetrate the European market and gain a significant market share".
"We feel that Avadis offers a new approach to visualisation, clustering, data mining and general data management, by providing a powerful package combined with ease of use and flexibility " said Marcus Cannon, sales director, InterFocus.
"We are looking forward to helping Strand Genomics in gaining a significant market share.
"In a very competitive market we feel that Avadis offers incredible value and this will be an important driving force in Europe."
