New laboratory will inject additional resources to deliver forefront analytical support to the Unilever's research and development
Unilever has awarded Intertek Caleb Brett a three-year contract, worth approximately £1.5 million per year, to provide analytical testing services on an outsourced basis.
Intertek Caleb Brett will establish a state-of-the-art analytical laboratory within Unilever's Port Sunlight facility near Liverpool, UK, from which Intertek will support the analytical needs of Unilever home and personal care (HPC) research and development at Port Sunlight.
The new laboratory will inject additional resources to deliver forefront analytical support to the research and development categories operating at Port Sunlight.
The establishment of the Intertek analytical laboratory within Unilever's Port Sunlight facility not only delivers an optimum outsourcing solution for measurement services but also provides the platform from which Intertek can build on its mission to become the world leader in offering advanced analytical and testing services to industry across Europe and the rest of the world.
Intertek at Port Sunlight joins the expanding worldwide network of Intertek analytical laboratories injecting a substantial additional advanced instrument and expertise base which complements perfectly the high level analytical competence established under a similar outsourcing contract with BP at Sunbury on Thames in 2000.
Mark Loughead, CEO of Intertek Caleb Brett division says, "We are delighted to have been chosen by Unilever as a partner for providing analytical services within Unilever's Port Sunlight facility.
"Unilever's decision to outsource these services is part of a growing trend by world class companies, which provides tremendous opportunities to expert analytical service companies such as Intertek Caleb Brett".
