Storage cabinet providdes a clean, Hepa-filtered enclosure in which endoscopes can be hung with individual air lines to purge and dry the internal channels
Labcaire, a manufacturer of endoscope washer disinfectors, is launching an Endoscope Storage Cabinet specially designed to complement its range of automated endoscope washer disinfectors. The launch comes shortly after the introduction of Autozyme, an enzymatic disinfection solution, and is another significant step towards supplying a complete system for endosope re-processing. Flexible endoscopes must be washed and disinfected between operations but stored at the end of the list.
Users face twin problems during this storage period: drying the units thoroughly and keeping them clean.
The Endoscope Storage Cabinet tackles both aspects, providing a clean, Hepa-filtered enclosure in which they can be hung on individually Hepa-filtered air lines to purge and dry the internal channels of the endoscope.
This assists in eliminating the build-up of potentially damaging biofilms.
Unlike other units made from metal or wood, the Labcaire Endoscope Storage Cabinet is constructed entirely from plastic.
Immune to corrosion and swelling due to the ingress of water, they are ideally suited to the moist, warm conditions in which these cabinets operate.
The Endoscope Storage Cabinet is available in two standard widths of 1000mm and 1500mm, holding either eight or 12 endoscopes.
The back and sides of the cabinet are totally smooth with all filters accessible through the top.
In this way, the units can be butted tightly together to leave no unsightly and potentially unhygienic gaps.
The twin, optically-clear front doors are made from PVC and are fitted with locks for additional security.
A carbon filter is built into the base of the unit to remove any potential traces of disinfectants or alcohol together with a removable drip-tray.
