Range of chemically-inert solenoid valves in a wide choice of configurations offer zero dead volume and full flushability
Resistance to aggressive chemicals, zero dead-volume, and full flushability are often the key requirements for valves specified within liquids handling systems used in laboratory, medical, analytical, biotechnology and OEM applications.
To meet these demands, miniature component specialist Lee Products offers a range of LFV chemically-inert solenoid valves in a wide choice of configurations.
These include a 'starfish' manifold, which is available in a configuration of five, six, seven, or eight valves.
These valves, which operate with a two-way normally closed operation, feature bi-directional flow and contoured internal passages which facilitates complete flushing without damaging delicate samples.
The small internal volume reduces the amount of fluid needed to fill the system (transport volume) and so minimises sample and reagent requirements.
LFV series valves are also available in a flange mount version which means they can be grouped together very closely on 13mm centres.
The position of the flange, which is angled at 30deg to the ports, enables this close grouping and so minimises the overall size of manifolds. Also, smaller, more compact manifolds means reduced costs, because less material is needed for the manifold.
Other features and benefits include 30ms response time, operating pressures up to 30psig, ten million cycles minimum, and low power consumption. The range includes 5, 12 and 24 volt models, available in manifold mount versions or with several porting options.
