Vanguard Healthcare Solutions has chosen Leica surgical microscopes to equip all of its mobile operating theatres. Vanguard is one of a very small number of companies providing on-site facilities to NHS hospitals requiring extra cover when their own theatres are being refurbished or when they need to reduce waiting lists.
All theatre units are fully mobile and self-contained, and even include nursing staff.
Steve Hudson, general manager of Vanguard Healthcare Solutions, said: "We know that Leica microscopes are recognised as quality microscopes but a major factor for us is that the Leica representatives are very professional and supportive following installation of the products; should a problem occur we can contact Leica and get results straight away.
Because our units are mobile, storage and floor area space are very important and wall mounting a microscope is a very attractive option for us, as it can be stored away against the theatre wall when not in use". "Our final decision was influenced following discussions with a number of our customers.
They included ophthalmologists who make use of the mobile theatre units at one of our long term contracts, who were very impressed by the Leica microscopes".
