Autotitrator allows users to make multi-parameter measurements automatically using under 5ml of sample, enabling the comprehensive analysis of even scarce materials
Malvern Instruments has launched the MPT-2, a new autotitrator designed for use with the recently introduced Zetasizer Nano series of particle characterisation systems.
Zetasizer Nano systems are used for measuring particle size, zeta potential and molecular weight of molecules and nano-sized particles.
The new autotitrator allows users to make multi-parameter measurements automatically using under 5ml of sample, enabling the comprehensive analysis of even scarce materials.
This is especially important for zeta potential determinations.
Zeta potential alone is often used to make comparisons between materials and formulations.
However, measuring zeta potential as a function of pH, conductivity and other parameters provides much greater insight into the processes involved in disperse systems. The MPT-2 autotitrator features fully disposable tubing in the sample flow, eliminating any risk of cross-contamination.
The MPT-2 replaces manual preparation techniques, which are time intensive, inherently variable and operator dependent.
With simple 'press and go' operation the system is easy to use.
The software enables the user to develop their own standard operating procedures which define all aspects of the titration, the measurement procedure, the calculation and the final report. Multiple method storage ensures that these protocols are always available for future use.
