As part of its PortableLab range, Mettler Toledo has launched a new portable refractometer, Refracto, which makes measuring refractive index quick and error free.
pRefracto can be used as a hand-held meter or bench-top unit.
The instrument can either be placed on a flat surface and a drop of sample added onto the measurement cell, or the cell can be dipped straight into the sample.
Results are given in seconds and are available in a wide variety of units with automatic temperature compensation.
Refracto can store up to 1000 results and data can be transferred to a PC or printer at any time via the infrared interface.
The PC software required for this is provided with Refracto.
The functional design means that single-handed operation is possible for right and left handed users.
It has a matrix LCD display which gives an excellent overview of the settings and measurements and the plain language menus mean that the user interface is easy to navigate.
Mettler Toledo has also launched Densito, a hand-held density meter, as part of the PortableLab range.
