New system for non contact laser microdissection based on the Olympus IX71 and IX51 inverted microscopes is now available for European Olympus customers
Olympus Optical and Palm Microlaser Technologies announce an OEM agreement providing Olympus Europe with the right to distribute a new Olympus MicroBeam system for laser microdissection throughout Europe.
The system is based on Palm technology and Olympus IX71 and IX51 microscopes.
Olympus is incorporating this micromanipulation tool into its portfolio to provide new and complete system solutions to its customers for a wide range of biological analyses in molecular biology, in genetic and proteomic research, in oncology, pathology and in many other areas in biological science.
Olympus's IX71/51 microscopes and European wide distribution channels combined with Palm's world-wide patented Laser Microdissection and Pressure Catapulting (LMPC) technology create new customer benefits in routine and advanced applications.
The Olympus MicroBeam is an easy to handle and reliable tool as required for modern medicine and biotechnology.
It is a state-of-art product for non-contact laser micromanipulation interfaced into the inverted IX71 and IX51 microscopes with easy handling through the user friendly operating software.
The Olympus MicroBeam system is highly versatile for all specimen preparations including slides, stained specimens or even living cells.
Optional fluorescence illumination for simultaneous observation and microdissection is possible.
The incorporated LMPC technology allows a contact-less microdissection and specimen capture as its dissects and transports biological material with light only.
The arrangement between Palm Microlaser Technologies and Olympus Europe continues the strategic approach of Olympus to offer complete system solutions for routine and advanced applications directly to Olympus customers.
This will include further integration of the motorised IX81 and other Olympus application oriented software/hardware packages into the Olympus MicroBeam system. Palm Microlaser Technologies continues its own sales and marketing activities with its Palm MicroLaser Systems series.
