Stereo microscopes and fibre and LED illumination products combine to build a tuned system ready to meet the present and future requirements of professional stereo microscopy
From 1 August 2003 Olympus Optical (Europa) is distributing the lighting products from Schott Glass together with the successful Olympus stereo microscopes in the European market.
Together the Olympus stereo microscopes and the innovative fibre and LED illumination products from Schott build a perfectly tuned system that is ready to meet the present and future requirements of professional stereo microscopy.
Schott offers a range of bench top fibre optic cold light sources: The most powerful KL 2500 LCD has a 250W cold light reflector lamp that exceeds twice the amount of light compared to conventional light sources.
Thus it is the ideal base for difficult illumination tasks like forensic and GFP fluorescence applications, and short exposure macro-photography.
It features step-less colour temperature and intensity control via an electronic or mechanical dimmer.
A filter wheel accommodates up to five insert filters.
The company's latest innovation is the Schott Visiled MC series, a computer controllable LED ring illumination system.
This modular system can be programmed to create variable oblique illumination, mixed and adjustable incident and transmitted light, frequency controllable strobe lighting, and flash with adjustable duration and intensity.
These possibilities allow the discovery of specimens in a completely new way.
