Michell Instruments has received one of the first orders for the new eight channel Moisture Manager from Fibrecore, the worlds longest established manufacturer of high-quality fibre-optic cables.
The Moisture Manager can process up to 24 multiple signal inputs and provides on screen display, alarm and output setting, trend analysis and data logging through a user-friendly 5" colour touch screen monitor.
The system can measure eight dewpoint, eight temperature and eight user-selected process parameters, such as pressure, flow rate or oxygen concentration. Michell Instruments is already an established presence at Fibrecore, with the eight channel system replacing an existing four channel unit.
The new eight-channel system will improve efficiency and accuracy in the optical fibre extrusion process, for which the carrier gas dewpoint is a critical factor.
The primary measurement of dewpoint temperature in the Moisture Manager is provided by the Transmet Dewpoint transmitter, giving a measurement range of -100 to +20C dp.
No external software or equipment is needed.
The Moisture Manager is a solution, which can be assembled and used straight from the box.
It also has the benefit of being extremely cost-effective with simple multi-parameter measurements.
Peter Maton, the Engineering Manager at Fibrecore is delighted to be the first to place an order with Michell Instruments for the new eight channel Moisture Manager.
"We are pleased with the flexibility and accuracy of the new system, and we expect the Michell Instruments Moisture Manager to help us maintain our advanced standards of optical fibre fabrication technology."
