Encapsulates the functionality of several standard VIs to help users dynamically create any report - from summarising manufacturing test results to compiling process statistics - in minutes
National Instruments has announced the Labview Report Generation Toolkit 1.1, an add-on that incorporates Express technology introduced in Labview 7 Express, to speed up the creation of Microsoft Excel and Word reports.
The Labview Report Generation Toolkit 1.1 features the new Microsoft Office report Express VI, which engineers and scientists use to interactively configure reports without low-level ActiveX programming.
Using the latest advances in Labview, this Express VI encapsulates the functionality of several standard VIs to help users dynamically create any report - from summarising manufacturing test results to compiling process statistics - in minutes.
To configure this VI, users simply choose their desired options, such as template, content layout and destination, using interactive configuration dialogue boxes that require little or no programming.
Engineers and scientists use this toolkit to quickly generate professional reports containing text, tables, graphs and pictures to effectively communicate their data.
They can populate existing report templates, customise templates as a function of the data and extend the toolkit's reporting capabilities using standard Labview functionality.
In addition, engineers and scientists can programmatically run and reuse existing Excel macros from Labview to further customise and automate report generation.
The Labview Report Generation Toolkit works with Microsoft Office 97/2000/XP/2003 and Labview 7 Express.
