Nickel-Electro, the manufacturer of temperature control equipment, has achieved its Investors in People status
Investors in People, the national quality standard for effective investment in staff development to help achieve business aims and objectives, was awarded to Nickel-Electro after a three-year programme in which the company worked alongside a Business Link adviser to identify and implement a number of key improvements to the business.
Managing director Melvin Dickson, says: "Working towards Investors in People has made a real, improved difference to how we run the company.
We have made changes that allow us to remain competitive on a global scale and we have seen increased performance as a result.
We are thrilled to have been recognised in this way and I have been really impressed by the commitment shown by the entire team." Nickel-Electro chose a group of ten employees from different areas of the business to meet regularly to discuss ideas and share information.
The best results have been seen in communication and training.
The company now has regular team meetings attended by all 60 plus employees, where the directors pass on information regarding new business, health and safety and product development.
This also serves as an open forum for staff to be recognised for their achievements and learn more about the business.
