Complete range of temperature control equipment specifically designed for life science applications, and particularly those dealing with smaller sample sizes
Nickel-Electro has launched the new Bio range - comprising products specifically designed for life science applications, and particularly those dealing with smaller sample sizes.
These items have been carefully selected from the existing Nickel-Electro range of Clifton temperature control equipment, and have had their capabilities extended for bioscience research laboratories. Block heaters in the Bio range are the BH-Dig series Digibloc which provides a safe, dry and consistent method of heating.
The microprocessor has the facility to retain a user adjustable, independent time and temperature combination and has an easy to read digital display.
Also available is the BH-T series Thermubloc, a thermostatically controlled analogue block heater which combines ease of use with affordability.
Both these block heaters have been extended to include micro tube blocs which range from 0.2ml to 2.0ml.
Bio range centrifuges comprise the NE000 and NE030 series.
The NE000 series is a compact personal micro centrifuge designed for micro tubes or PCR strips, and are perfect for quick and simple spin downs.
An angle head rotor is supplied as standard which accepts up to 6x0.5 and/or 1.5ml micro tubes.
With a maximum speed of 8000rpm, the NE000 operates both smoothly and quietly.
The NE030 series is a highly specified and affordable centrifuge suitable for daily use.
With 'active lid cooling' which draws fresh air in from outside and expels warm air from the rotor assembly through the back, it is suitable for biological separations and sampling which can suffer heat damage.
The unit takes up to 24x0.25ml and 1.5ml tubes, and is supplied without a rotor enabling the right head to be chosen for the application.
With an easy to read digital display, the NE030 is operated by a 6-60 minute timer, with the added bonus of an audible alarm.
Also in the Bio range are the CM series cyclone vortex mixer, which is far superior to hand shaking, and the CM series cyclone + vortex mixer, which is specifically designed for tube, microplate, flask and microtube mixing using accessory platforms which can be quickly interchanged.
This unit is designed to operate at lower speeds for gentle mixing, reducing damage to cell structure.
It has variable speed control, with the advantage of controlled mixing over a speed range.
Accessories for the Cyclone+ include enhanced interchangeable heads specifically for life science applications - ranging from a single tube mixing cup to a platform for 96 well microplates.
The stirred bath in the Bio range is the NE4-D/CT series, digital control acrylic tank.
The shaking bath is the NE5-D series, where the use of an advanced PID temperature controller allows simultaneous observation of set and actual temperature.
Available with a broad range of accessory trays, flask clips and racks, the NE4-D/CT ensures flexibility for routine and specialised cell culture work.
Melvin Dickson, managing director of Nickel-Electro says: "When we designed the Bio range we hand picked appropriate products from the Clifton range and modified them accordingly.
"We hope the range will be of benefit to everyone in the bioscience industry".
As with all products in the Clifton range, all Bio range products come with a three year warranty.
