Image database and networking software streamlines and facilitates the acquisition, archiving, sharing, and analysis of digital images using familiar internet protocols
Ideal for laboratories with large microscopy imaging requirements, EclipseNet software is an image database and networking system that streamlines and facilitates the acquisition, archiving, sharing, and analysis of digital images. Designed to support Nikon's digital cameras, this powerful and easy-to-use software is built on internet technologies.
It enables image storage, retrieval, management, and the exchange of digital images with their associated information.
The system currently supports the DN100 and DXM1200 digital cameras. EclipseNet allows users to publish databases on the internet and makes them accessible to anyone with a standard browser. EclipseNet software, in combination with Nikon's DN100, allows images to be transmitted between computers with ease. Using the IP address system, many computers can simultaneously access a camera connected to a computer network.
EclipseNet is capable of handling even very large images (>200MB) using a 'tile' method where multiple small regions of an image are captured and then stitched seamlessly together.
Images can be annotated with text, arrows, lines, and other objects, which are saved separately so the captured raster data is not affected. EclipseNet reads/writes all common file formats such as JPEG2000, BMP, GIF, TIF, PNG and LIM.
It uses JPEG2000 as its standard format for EclipseNet because of high compression ratios that provide exceptional image quality.
