In a bid to strengthen the company's presence in the bioscience and industrial research fields, Nikon UK makes new appointments
Nikon Instruments UK has appointed Chay Keogh as marketing group leader, and Jason McMahon as marketing assistant, in a bid to strengthen the company's presence in the bioscience and industrial research fields and to position the organisation as the number one provider of digital imaging technology.
Keogh, who is studying for a CIM qualification (Certificate in Marketing) has been with Nikon for five years.
He joined as a sales office administrator and then spent three years as a service engineer. In 2002 he became product executive for biomedical and industrial microscopes and measuring systems.
His experience before joining Nikon includes almost three years as an assistant scientific officer at the Laboratory of the Government Chemist in Teddington.
McMahon originally joined Nikon as an IT executive in 2002 to help upgrade Nikon's information systems.
In his new role, he will primarily be responsible for maintaining the Nikon website.
He will also play a key role in organising exhibitions, monitoring sales leads and managing day-to-day marketing administration.
He started his career as a photographer and has also worked as a production editor for a publishing company. Keogh says: "The department's goal is to become more accessible to customers.
"Our aim is to improve the way we market our products and to show prospective customers that Nikon is the best choice for total system solutions.
"One thing we are keen to do, particularly on the bioscience side of the business, is to become more application-focused.
"We want to develop a better understanding of the customer's needs and to establish what they are doing, how they are using the equipment and any future developments and potential benefits for other customers."
