Dedicated two product specialists to laser microdissection following an agreement with Molecular Machine and Industries (MMI) to sell its specialist cell manipulation equipment
"Cell manipulation technology is becoming increasingly more important and diverse as it enables scientists a more targeted analysis of specific cells of interest in a contamination free environment.
"With very simple software the user is able to easily isolate, manipulate and extract individual cells within a sample, thus providing highly accurate results, whilst saving time and cutting relative analysis costs" says Sunny Bhandari.
The Cell Cut, MMI's laser microdissection system, provides a fully automated UV dissection system that, when coupled to video imaging on the Eclipse TE2000, allows users to view samples on screen, outline areas interest using the mouse or screen pen, dissect and safely isolate these cells for further PCR extraction.
"This is ideal for scientists working with or wishing to extract DNA, RNA and/or proteins.
"Cell Cut is a precise, reliable and contamination free system that uses cold UV laser technology, meaning samples are not exposed to additional heat or radiation that could damage cells.
"The system also provides the perfect solution to live cell cutting and cell transfer from existing or archived slides, even if frozen" says Tim Ecclestone.
In addition to Cell Cut, Nikon will also be distributing further cell manipulation products from MMI including the CellManipulator optical tweezers, the Cellector for collecting cells from liquid and the CellExplorer for auto recognition of regions of Interest especially useful with stained and fluorescence samples.
