Orbital Sciences Corporation has completed the purchase of Foxboro's process gas chromatography (PGC) product line
Orbital Sciences Corporation has completed the purchase of Foxboro's process gas chromatography (PGC) product line.
PGC analysers are widely used by refining, petrochemical, natural gas, chemical and other industrial producers to measure chemical composition of process streams.
Orbital will integrate the PGC product line into its Applied Instrument Technologies (AIT) business unit in Pomona, California.
Orbital's AIT unit will assume responsibility for the ongoing service and support of the PGC products that are currently installed with customers, as well as the production and sales of new systems.
Joseph LaConte, vice president of Orbital's Applied Instrument Technologies unit, said, "PGC products represent the largest market opportunity within the process analytical instrument industry.
Orbital's acquisition of the Foxboro PGC product line will position us to better serve our customers with an expanded product line for these markets." The PGC product line will complement Orbital's already broad offering of process analytical instruments that include the Analect FTIR, MGA Process Mass Spectrometers, PionIR Near-Infrared, and CS 200 Flow Injection Analysers.
