Award to recognise the importance infection control professionals play in limiting and containing the spread of bacterial resistance and hospital-acquired infections
Oxoid has launched the Oxoid Infection Control Team of the Year Award to recognise the importance that infection control doctors, consultant microbiologists, those working in microbiology laboratories, infection control nurses, and other infection control professionals all play in limiting and containing the spread of bacterial resistance and hospital acquired infections. Entry is simple - there are no forms to complete.
Entrants are asked simply to provide a two-page summary describing the infection control challenges faced in their hospital; advise how team members interact with each other to respond to these challenges; describe the outcome of their work (including any new testing, reporting or auditing practices and procedures adopted) and describe why this has made a difference to their patients and hospital.
The £5000 first prize will allow the winning team the freedom to choose how they should be rewarded, whether with a team-building event, training or perhaps they will use the Award to cover travel expenses to conferences and seminars of interest. 2nd and 3rd prize winners will receive £1000 and £500 respectively.
If you are interested in entering a team for this important new award, entry guidelines are available from your local Oxoid representative, or from the company's website.
