As the closing date for the 2003/2004 Oxoid Food Awards approaches (28 February 2004), there is still just enough time to nominate any last-minute entries for each of the prestigious prize categories.
The annual Oxoid Food Awards were established to recognise and reward outstanding achievement in the food industry, particularly in the areas of safety standards, hygiene and working practices.
The winner of the Oxoid Technician of the Year award will receive £1000 plus a trip to the 2004 International Association of Food Protection (IAFP) meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.
Second and third runners-up in this category will each receive £500.
Winners of each of the other categories, Oxoid Contract Laboratory of the Year, Oxoid In-House Laboratory of the Year and the new Oxoid Award for Laboratory Education and Training will each receive £500, ideal for funding a team-building event or celebration.
All winners and runners-up will also receive a commemorative trophy or a framed certificate to mark the occasion.
Entry for the 2003/2004 Awards closes on 28 February 2004.
Winners will be notified in April and will receive their prizes at a special celebration dinner to be held at the Ardencote Manor Hotel, Warwickshire in June 2004.
