New vascular service at St Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight benefits from Philips Ultrasound instruments
The diagnostic imaging department at St Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight already has one Philips Ultrasound HDI 5000 and, with an increase in work, is about to take delivery of another.
Debbie Beare, lead senior sonographer, explained: "We bought our first HDI 5000 two years ago and the department is expanding at such a pace that we need another system.
The new equipment means we have been able to develop a new vascular service with surgeons coming from Southampton to hold clinics here rather than patients having to go there.
The new instrument will also be used for general ultrasound covering the usual spectrum of gynaecological, upper abdominal and general outpatient examinations." "We evaluated several different instruments two years ago and decided on the Philips Ultrasound system primarily because of the excellent image quality and the broad beam probes which we liked.
The vascular package is also very impressive which, of course, makes it especially suitable for our needs.
We are already familiar with Philips Ultrasound instruments and are very happy with the service and support we have received.
We are always kept up to date with information and courses, like the recent optimisation day I attended, which I find very useful."
